JonOne

JonOne, born John Andrew Perello in 1963 in New York, is a world-renowned graffiti artist and painter of Dominican descent. He began graffitiing the streets of Harlem at 17 and developed a distinctive “freestyle” approach that breaks traditional rules of urban art, allowing for complete creative freedom.

A major retrospective, Carte Blanche, is currently on view at Fluctuart in Paris (September 11–December 21, 2025), tracing 40 years of his work. His art is also featured in the exhibition Panorama in Draguignan until September 27, 2025, with another solo show, Freedom, scheduled at Speerstra Gallery in Paris from October 11 to November 8, 2025.

Deeply influenced by hip hop culture, street life, and the urban environment of Harlem, JonOne incorporates elements of cityscapes and the metro into his work. After moving to Paris in 1987, the self-taught artist transitioned from graffiti to canvas painting, collaborating with notable artists and gaining international recognition.

His paintings are known for vibrant colors, dynamic compositions, and a balance between spontaneity and precision, resulting in energetic abstract works. Beyond galleries, JonOne has collaborated with major luxury and lifestyle brands. In 2023, his solo exhibition The World of Tomorrow at the Musée du Touquet further confirmed his status as a leading figure in contemporary art.
